Note: Only the text content of the PDFs will be processed. Images and tables are not included. The total content should be no more than 100,000 characters due to the context length of Llama 3.1 405B.

How To use Open NotebookLM to convert your PDFs into podcasts, follow these steps:

  1. Upload your PDF(s):
    • Select the PDF document you want to convert.
    • Click “Upload” to submit the document.
  2. Paste a URL (optional):
    • If you have content from a webpage you’d like to include, paste the URL here.
  3. Specific question or topic:
    • If you have a particular question or topic in mind that you want the podcast to address, mention it here.
  4. Choose the tone:
    • Select the tone you prefer for the podcast, such as “Fun”.
  5. Choose the length:
    • Decide on the duration of the podcast, for example, “Medium (3-5 min)”.
  6. Choose the language:
    • Select the language you want the podcast in, such as “Chinese”.
  7. Use advanced audio generation? (Experimental):
    • Choose the audio clarity you prefer, like “Clear”.
  8. Submit:
    • Click “Submit” to start the process of converting your PDF into a podcast.

Once the process is complete, you’ll have a podcast episode that you can listen to, with timestamps indicating different segments of the conversation.
